Blue Monday Cheese is a British cow's milk cheese in the style of a Gorgonzola Piccante. When it's on song, Blue Monday is a soft, creamy blue cheese with strong blue veining which delivers a smooth, satisfying piquancy to the palate.
Alex James from Blur named this cheese after his favourite New Order song but there is absolutely nothing that will make you unhappy about this masterpiece. Another Alex James Co. cheese, Blue Monday Cheese is complex, creamy with bold cracks and streaks of blue-spicy, steely and sweet.
Hand made in Yorkshire and matured for a minimum of 12 weeks, it develops a wonderfully soft, mellow, creamy texture.
With a faintly sweet, intensely savoury, spicy and rich complex flavour. Great spread on toast or in a salad with walnuts.
It has won several awards including Gold at the British Cheese Awards 2017 and Silver at the World Cheese Awards in 2019.
