Sussex Gourmand is a very different hamper company. They ditched the wicker for eco-friendly packaging and a focus on flavour and quality.
Heralded ‘outstanding’ and ‘delicious’ in the Great Taste Awards every year since 2017, Sussex Gourmand's artisan cured Sussex grass-fed beef and wild venison bresaola is something special. Additive-free and naturally cured with sea salt, home-grown herbs, spices, hedgerow berries and Sussex gin, it features prominently in our gourmet snack kits, gift boxes and hampers that celebrate the Sussex countryside, with flavours of the field forest and sea.
Quality and local provenance sits at the heart of Sussex Gourmand and this was recognised in 2019 when we became a Great Taste producer, having won awards over three consecutive years.
Ethics are important too. People are increasingly turning to venison as an ethical meat, with deer culling vital to the countryside to avoid damaging crops, trees, coppices and woodland bird life. But Sussex beef, naturally reared by local farms play their part too, as grazing maintains the South Downs landscape and wildlife.
Our hamper range celebrates Sussex in style, but with careful thought given to packaging, which is all environmentally conscious and excellent at maintaining food quality.
