Selamlique Istanbul operates with a focus on tradition and quality, aiming to bring back and preserve the authentic ritual of Turkish coffee drinking.
Selamlique Istanbul was founded in 2009 by partners Caroline Koc and Banu Yentur. The ritual and culture surrounding Turkish coffee is something that had always been close to the hearts of the two founders. Having partnered in creating a luxury home textile and linens brand, it was Caroline and Banu's intention to create a boutique blend of Turkish with the purpose of offering hospitality to their customers whilst browsing their showroom. To their delight the interest that this Turkish coffee generated was so great that it was decided to further develop the range and create a secondary business. So Selamlique Istanbul was born.
The age-old tradition of Turkish coffee slowly dissipated as alternative coffees entered the market - its relevance was overshadowed with each passing generation. Selamlique aims to revive this original coffee drinking tradition by combining authenticity with a unique modern style and an aim to become the first global premium Turkish coffee brand.
