This is Sky Wave Gin’s fabulous London Dry gin, developed during, and to reflect life, under the 2020 Lockdown. “It’s born of love and inspired by nature,” says Andrew Parsons, Sky Wave’s Master Distiller.

When he asked his wife, Rachel, how she might like to mark a significant birthday, her request was, ‘to make me the most wonderful gin.’ He set about creating an exceptional spirit made with all his love for her.

Then Lockdown struck, and the world was turned upside down. But amongst the fear and the pain, a change became evident. People were calmer, kinder, less rushed. People were thoughtful of each other again, and communities were reborn. We started to enjoy the quiet. We read, we talked, we spent real time with our families.

And we started to notice nature as it grew and flourished through the Spring and into the Summer, oblivious of human difficulty. Hedgerows flourished, meadows blossomed, birds sang – and we heard them! As we spent the time to develop our gin we drew inspiration from these changes, and from the nature all around us which many of us had never taken the time to enjoy before.

And as we emerged from the strangest of times it felt like a form of liberation. A liberation with a determination never to go back to exactly how it was; to take the best of what we had learnt and leave the worst behind. This is why we called our gin ‘Liberation’.
