This is not the conventional salad, as in you won't see leaves as such. We went above and beyond, mixed it all up and came up with Salad Olivieh! A truly multi-purpose and delicious dish. Originating from Russia, this dish has been redeveloped and refined from the original, which apparently consisted of veal and tongue. This dish is either an appetizer for a party with some crackers, a late night snack, or even as a sandwich with some sliced bread.
The origins of this dish were created by Lucien Olivier, a Russian chef whose recipe was not found until after this death! The recipe has seen dramatic changes to make it Salad-e Olivieh. We have opted to keep it relatively meat friendly, (but if you wish to add chicken then go ahead) this is a great sandwich filler. Use your leftover chicken or turkey and spread as much or as little and enjoy.
Best put, this is a great sandwich filler. If you want a nutritious quick snack or hearty lunch, this dish will be able to satisfy your needs. A combination of vegetables and protein. No need for seasoning or sauces and perfect if you are in a hurry to fill that belly.
