Roveja is an ancient Italian wild field pea. Traditionally grown on the Apennine mountains of Le Marche and Umbria in Central Italy, this ancient pulse threatened by industrial agriculture has become a rarity.
Roveja not only tastes delicious, but it is also a low fat source of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals. Excellent in soups, it is worth trying on toasted bread.
Our roveja is organically grown in Monteleone di Spoleto, Umbri by Cicchetti, a small family farm concerned about the quality of their produce and the respect of the environment.
