    Description

A parcel selection dry white wine cuvée, this Figula Köves is a truly special vintage. Its name means "Stony", as the vines had to contend with an particularly rocky soil, resulting in small grapes of especially concentrated minerality.

Winery: Figula Winery, Balatonfüred (Balaton Wine Region)
Grape variety: 55% Pinot Grigio and 45% Olaszrizling (Welschriesling)
    Soil type: Limestone
    Fermentation: Fermented in oak barrel
Ageing: 10 months in oak barrel
    Alcohol Content: 14.5%
    Bottle Size: 0.75l

Platinum winner of the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018, it was described by the judges as:
Full of joy! Generous aromas of pineapple, lychee, mango and minerality. A big, bold style. Rich and long with textures of honey, spice and racy acidity. This is an expressive wine that definitely stands out and delivers.

    Tasting Notes
An intense nose of great complexity, primarily of delicate spices and an exciting minerality. It has a rich and creamy texture, with white-fleshed fruits and citrus notes on the palate, intricate and intriguing in equal measure. It ends in a long finish, mineral and lightly salty, leaving a lasting memory in everyone who tastes it. A real treat for wine lovers and connoisseurs.

    Food Pairing Recommendation
Very enjoyable on its own, or pair it with poultry and fish dishes, like an alaskan smoked salmon with fresh rosemary and lime. Your can serve it alongside washed rind cheese like Epoisses, Livarot or Reblochon to bring out the best from both.

    Serving temperature: 11°C

    About the Producer
The family-run Figula Winery was established in 1993, with the vineyard on the south-eastern slopes overlooking the scenic Lake Balaton. On an estate of 30 hectares, winemaker Mihály Figula is cultivating indigenous grapes which are uniquely suited to the microclimate, as well as universally popular varieties, to showcase the versatility of the region. His rigorous approach resulted in success at both the national and international stage, while Mihály was also awarded the prestigious “Winemaker of the Year” title in 2019.

When crafting each bottle of wine, emphasising the unique characteristics of the region is at the forefront of our mind. Our aim is to create a distinct style, which combined with the opportunities afforded by the special terroir, allows us to make wines of outstanding quality.
