This limited edition, unfiltered cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is made from olives cultivated in Calabria, Italy. It comes exclusively from olives of the 'Carolea' variety which tend to have a moderately fruity taste, with hints of apple, almond, artichoke and nuances of bitter, spicy and herbaceous. Giacinto oil has a certified acidity of 0.2%.
It can be used either as salad dressing, drizzled on a bruschetta, as a finishing touch for starters and soups or to cook delicious recipes of fish, meat and pasta.

A note from Vorrei about their producer:
"The Tenute Santacroce farm is a family-run farm in Calabria, Southern Italy which since 1899 has been producing extra virgin olive oil from the Santacroce family's olive groves and serving the local market. Only recently Maria Santacroce (who took over the management of the farm), has decided to bring the Giacinto oil, named after her father Giacinto Santacroce, to international niche markets. Giacinto oil is only available in limited edition every year as only carefully selected olives of the monocultivar Carolea are used to ensure a consistent quality.
The ancient olive trees are looked after throughout the year and when the olives have reached the right ripeness are harvested and immediately taken to the olive press. The olives are cold pressed using only mechanical processes, resulting in oil with a very low acidity level (0.2g per 100g, certified by chemical analysis).
An additional sign of the Santacroce's commitment to quality, is the choice to bottle the oil in tins which are the best form of container to prevent exposure to direct light. This attention to detail ensures that the Giacinto d'oro retains its full flavour and nutritious properties to enrich every family meal."
