Bay Leaves - or Greek Laurel - have a distinctive aromatic flavour and are regularly used to enhance soups, stews, braises and pâtés in both Mediterranean and Latin American cuisine. The Bay Leaf does have a slightly bitter taste so should be removed from the cooked food before eating.
