The origin of the blackcurrants used to produce this British Cassis is the Whittern Estate, nestled in the rolling fields of Herefordshire. It is an historic farm with a passion for contemporary decadence. Once a mixed arable farm, the family chose to take the road less travelled: cultivating blackcurrants, a quintessential flavour of the British countryside.
Freshly picked blackcurrants are naturally fermented with champagne yeast, then blended with a touch of vodka to fortify, with finally a little sugar being added to bring out the intensely fruity flavour.
The first blackcurrants were grown at the farm as far back as 1880.
