My other half loves this alternative. Admittedly, most cheese substitutes are not really quite the same as the real thing, but if you have a total dairy allergy/intolerance (and my wife's favourite food happens to be cheese as well) then this one comes pretty close. - The Wensleydale with cranberries goes even quicker!
A vegan blue cheese alternative, this matches fantastically well with selected fruits and a glass of wine or dark fruit juice.
The Blue Sheese goes so well with fruits like pears and old English apples such as Russets and Granny Smiths, but it will also add a new flavour twist to all your meals. Lots of American recipes actually use Blue: for salad dressings, vinaigrettes, dips, in potato cakes or shaved into salads (accompanied with walnuts and a glass of Sauterne. It is perfect between granary bread with slices of beefsteak tomato and a big pinch of fresh tarragon, and absolutely lovely in a Blue Sheese coleslaw. But topped with herbs, paprika and a sprinkle of olive oil, the Blue Sheese is fabulous toasted or cooked in general too. It can be grated into mashed potato, or even used as a garnish for well roasted jacket potatoes (and sprinkled with rosemary).
