This is a fresh and fruity organic Barbera, sour, savoury and tasty from 20 year old vines with grapes fermented in cement vats and matured in old wooden barrels for another 12 months before bottling. This wine is always complex and well-balanced and offers up immediate accessibility and appeal.
It makes a lovely accompaniment to dishes that demand a lighter styled, but complex and tangy red wine.

The Trinchero Estate is a Barbera specialist located in the Asti hills in the region of Piedmonte. The winery is based in the early nineteenth century complex of Agliano Terme, which has been in the Trinchero family since the 1920s. The Trinchero brothers, Secondo and Serafino began the winery at this time, and it is now run by their sons, Renato and Ezio Trinchero.
Trinchero now makes one of the best examples of Barbera to be found in Italy. The Trinchero family believes that the underrated Barbera grape is a variety capable of producing wines of profound complexity and serious longevity, if cultivated from old vines in superior sites and vinified to allow graceful evolution in the bottle.
Renato and Ezio's wines are beautifully-crafted, organic, artisanal wines of great distinction and complexity.
