Bang Curry Balishal Fish Curry Spice Mix is based on a traditional Bangladeshi fish curry recipe. It very spicy with lots of tang, and is ideally used with a meaty white fish like cod or basa.
To use this delicious Bang Curry Balishal Fish Curry Spice Mix follow these three simple steps:
Step 1: Finely dice a medium onion and finely grate four cloves of garlic and one inch of fresh ginger. Soften the onions, garlic and ginger in a pan using cooking oil for about two minutes on a low hob setting. The result should be a translucent mixture - don't caramelise!
Step 2: Mix the Balishal spice mix into a paste using milk or water and add this to the pan. Use milk for a creamier/sweeter flavour or water for fiery flavour. Add 1 - 2 diced tomatoes and continue to heat on a low setting.
Step 3: Add the fish pieces and raise the heat searing both sides of the fish for about thirty seconds. Add boiling water to your desired consistency and add vegetables if you have chosen to do so. Lower the heat and simmer until cooked, for about twenty minutes.
