Our vision was to create small-batch, artisan, copper distilled spirits using our orchard and farm botanicals, grain spirit and our own natural water.
Some years ago, a chance conversation led us to us putting our resources and knowledge together to grow fruit in the wonderful fields of Herefordshire. With our blueberry, cherry and apple orchards thriving we decided to put our name to a product that is farm-made, hand created and rich in provenance.
Every year the supermarkets reject tons of fruit due to it not being ‘perfect’ enough for the shelf. We find that these imperfect fruits help to make our gins particularly special. After two years of research and plenty of tasting our recipe was complete, we purchased a 150-litre copper still and converted our 250-year-old former cow shed into the distillery and in 2018 Penrhos Spirits was created. Over 2 years later we now have 3 gins, 1 liqueur and our first non-alcoholic spirit.
