Our Story

Brisket & Barrel is a French Smokehouse based in the historic town of Sevenoaks, celebrating a mixture of oak wood-smoked food with that distinct French talent for the savoir-faire.

Brisket & Barrel was the idea of 3 individuals, Sebastien, Alexandre and Quentin in creating a unique doorway into the world of Smoké (i.e, Smoked) food. A passionate world of slowly cooked smoked food made with a little bit of that “je ne sais quoi”.

Sebastien and Alex have over 50 years’ experience between them. They have worked in award winning restaurants around the world and in the UK, with a wealth of knowledge shared between them.

In 2016 they purchased an old hickory smoker to experiment a range of techniques in the art of barbecuing different types of meat. Once they were happy and exact in their new found knowledge, they took the next step and opened the Brisket & Barrel in 2017.

It was then decided that the rubs used on our meats and their accompanying sauces opened up a whole new avenue for invention.

So, we developed a range of our own homemade sauces and special spice blends to act as the perfect accompaniment for our unique range of barbecued meats served in the Brisket & Barrel.

To our delight, the feedback was so good that we decided to offer a range of our sauces in jars for you to take home or equally use in your chosen environment, such as a restaurant. Now everyone can have a taste of the Smoké world that the Brisket & Barrel have created.
