Recipe: Matcha Green Tea Smoothie
Few people know more about tea than Lalani & Co, and we're thrilled that they have shared this brilliantly simple matcha tea smoothie recipe with us. Their teas are harvested from carefully-selected, family-run gardens, meaning every batch is fully traceable to its origin.

Matcha tea comes from the same plant as other types of tea, camellia sinensis, but the plants that are grown for harvesting matcha are shaded from the sunlight for three weeks before harvest. This changes the nutrient balance in the leaf, producing more of the amino acid L-theanine which is believed to be beneficial for mood and metabolism. After harvesting, the leaves are dried and then ground into a powder using a metal or stone mill.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Matcha Powder
- 1 banana
- 200ml almond milk
- 3 dates (use fresh dates to keep the green colour of the smoothie)
- 25g oats

Instructions
1 Place all ingredients in a blender.
