Poetic License is a small batch independent distillery based in the North East of England, handcrafting award winning Spirits. Our flavours are how we express ourselves, we break the rules to find a tastier way.

Our Story

Poetic License Distillery started trading on the 22nd of September 2015, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in our first year. Launching new and exciting flavours, breaking the rules and creating better spirits. Each of our spirits have won fantastic awards at the Gin Masters Awards 2015 and the International Wine and Spirits Competition to name a few! We distil, rather uniquely, in a bar of the same name on coastline of Roker, Tyne and Wear. Producing our core spirits by hand in our 500L pot still Gracie, we also like to add seasonal specialities and limited edition rarities. For now, though, these are top secret!

We produce three constant products: our critically acclaimed Northern Dry Gin and Old Tom Gin offer unexpected, punchy flavours, while Graceful Vodka is gloriously smooth. We are very passionate about using fresh natural botanicals in our gins and only British wheat for our Graceful Vodka. We believe these passions come across in our continued support for local suppliers and through the charities we are involved with.
