Our sauce Ooft! has been used by our family for over 25 years and is based on an old family recipe. Ooft! is made by hand in a tiny Scottish village and is aged for over a year like fine wine before bottling.
My wife and I make Ooft! in the village of Smailholm in the Scottish Borders. Ooft! is made in small batches using only Scotch Bonnet peppers and other natural ingredients. The peppers are individually inspected and washed before blending with fresh garlic, daikon and other ingredients.
Our peppers are from the Dominican Republic, sourced for us by a Covent Garden supplier and are top grade peppers. We tried many sources and were often disappointed before finding this plantation in the Caribbean.
Unlike 99% of hot sauces we allow our mash to age for over a year which eliminates the need for additives, and delivers a rich smooth taste.
Ooft! has won several national awards for taste including Great Taste, Scotland Food and Drink, and a commendation from Quality Foods.
